A Sri Lankan Welcome

Mission of Mercy has some amazing partners on the field. Some organizations are already there in the country, working with at-risk children, and we are able to come alongside of them as partners to further their ministry.

Others partners are churches who want to do more for their communities, and Mission of Mercy is able to guide them in developing a program that ministers to the whole child.

And yet we wouldn't be able to do this without you, our partners in sponsorship. We know the power of the individual to make a difference in a child's life.

One of the most encouraging things in our work is when a group of people join together with one purpose to serve children and teach them about God's kingdom. That is happening right now in Sri Lanka, where a group of radio listeners from SOS Radio Las Vegas have traveled to visit a unique ministry just outside of Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo.

The SOS team has been working with the children of Samudra Sri Leadership Academy, a very special project that changes the lives of children orphaned by the 2004 Tsunami or the protracted civil war.

The ministry of Samudra Sri is truly incredible; children who were once traumatized refugees transform into confident young leaders. To learn more about this home for children, listen to the interview below.

The Heart Of Samudra Sri

The SOS team received a special welcome from the children:

Witnessing this change the academy makes in the life of a child, the SOS team has assisted in two areas by building additional tables and benches for the classrooms as well as running a Vacation Bible School.

Children love to play and learn no matter where they are!

We expect this team will have a lot to share when they return. Please pray for their last few days in Sri Lanka, that God will work in them and through them as they continue to work with the children!
