New Life Home Stories: Baby Amber

Amber is a sweet baby girl with an awesome story. Read how she recovered from her rough start in life to find a forever adoptive family!

< April 2011

Admission weight: 2.2kg (4.8lb)
Estimated birthday: March 4

Amber was found in a local slum by an older gentleman who was relieving himself in the bushes when he noticed a tiny, naked child thrown into the pile of thorns. The man took the baby to the police, who brought her to the New Life Home.

She is a tiny child with a shock of glossy black hair. Her delicate face is scratched from lying on the thorny ground. She is nestled in an incubator, a little jaundiced. But she is a healthy eater, guzzling down 1.5oz of baby formula. Her tiny hands, blue from exposure, are now pink and warm.

She is such a bright and happy girl!

August 2011 >

Amber is healthy at 5.6kg (12.3lb) and growing stronger
by the day.

Her favorite activities include sitting in her bouncy chair and playing with toys.

She is trying to communicate with sweet babbles. She has grown so much that she is almost too big for her little bed!

Amber was recently identified for adoption – her new mama is coming soon!

< October 2011

Amber left the New Life Home to join her forever family!

Amber's story is like so many other babies at the New Life Home: once forgotten and abandoned, they are healed and redeemed by the love of the staff. It was a joy to see her grow into such a beautiful girl.

She brings much happiness to her new family! Praise God!
