We at Mission of Mercy are praying for the country of Jordan, where protests have also resulted in continued reshuffling of the government. Jordan’s king has vowed to push ahead with reforms which could start to address the poverty that is so prevalent there.
As we pray for all the believers who continue to minister to God’s people in this region, we are also lifting up the country of Sri Lanka. While it did not make many news headlines, more than a million people have been affected by severe flooding in Sri Lanka.
Because of unusually heavy monsoon rains, the central and eastern districts have been especially hard hit. These areas produce much of Sri Lanka’s main staple of rice. Some estimate the floods have destroyed over a third of the projected harvest and drive up food prices.
Our staff there sent the following prayer requests:
As always, if your sponsored child is directly affected, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Thank you for being faithful prayer warriors for your sponsored children and God’s work in the world!
