Christmas At Our Projects: What A Party!

A few months ago, we described how vital the Christmas Gift Fund is for providing Christmas to the more than 40,000 kids registered in our projects.
And perhaps your sponsored child, like little Nirosha in Sri Lanka, described what happened at the project at Christmas time in her Christmas card:
“May God bless you! I am awaiting to celebrate the Christmas merrily. A Christmas programme is going to be held for little children in our village on Christmas day. I hope to participate this programme and enjoy seeing the dances and singing of my companions. May it be a blessed Christmas to you, too!”
As Nirosha mentions, the projects provide more than a gift – there are often programs and even meals. But to give you a better idea of what happens at these Christmas parties, check out these pictures from our ministry partner in Swaziland. They threw a birthday party for Jesus, and all the kids were invited to attend!
The party opens in prayer:
And moves into worship and dancing:
Even the staff gets in on the act. Then the skits begin.
While that happens, other staff members work hard preparing a meal.
Which the kids quickly devour.
There are activities inside, like crafts and a showing of the Jesus film in siSwati.
And of course there are games outside – sometimes even bounce houses!
So can you understand why the children are grateful for your gifts? What better way to celebrate Christmas than a day full of laughter and love, good food and fun!
